The update on the Chemo

Its 4:30 in the morning and was trying to think of a story for HubPages, since I've been in a slump in the writing department. With working and taking Mom to Chemo, it’s been too much for some reason to write, and that’s unusual for me NOT to write anything, although i have been writing alot of NOTE-TAKING. So I was thinking why couldn't I write about my experience or at least an up-date on everything with Mom, since all you guys helped me and was so generously helpful at the very beginning of my Mother’s Journey. And i wanted to thank all the HubPages village for that.

A little Scared

I went and took Mom for Chemo the other day. She went Tuesday, and the COOL nurses at my job let me off to go and to help her, since Dad had a doctor’s appointment also, so it was pretty crazy. But with all the Chemo, she has to wear this fanny-pack I call it that has a small pump and that puts more Chemo in her port that is in her chest; well at least that’s how I understand it. She is doing pretty good, but it did make her sick a little and I think that's why her POTASSIUM is down. And I learned something along the way on all this; I’m a chicken when it comes to my Momma. As a nurse assistant, I can see all KINDS of stuff during the day, but when it comes down to the nitty-gritty, I had to look away when they were drawing blood out of my Mom and it surprised me. I thought I was stronger than that.

Telling My Sons

One of the hardest parts during all of this is telling my three sons that their grandmother had Cancer.( ages 22,23,30) This was around Thanksgiving, so they decided to come over and help cook, bake, what ever they were needed for. I remember sighing with relief and was thankful one that it showed that they loved ,and supported her,and two, that they knew I couldn't bake, I sorta called in the TROOPS. (ha) So here we were, with Mom trying to organize and supervise, it was bitter-sweet. I always tape the things we do at my Mom's house, but this was a little different, she is so serious, but she always is, she was afraid Jeremy would goof up the pumpkin pies. Jeremy was a ham, always is though.

Mom and my son Jeremy the Chemist, he is trying to make pumpkin pies. I just made 2 Chocolate pies by scratch.

Journaling and sharing is a good release. I know this having incurred my own traumas. I can't relate to your struggle, but often suffering is a wonderful teacher. I hope you and your MOm well and most of all faith. I do believe that faith carries miracles: whether in this life or the after life.

You're welcome to look at my own hubs about my various struggles:)

I can totally relate to your story. My mum had cancer four years ago. It was a tough and worrying time for everyone. She is now in remission and doing well now. I wish you and all your family the very best. I love your photos.
